Inside tWitch’s final 72 hours: Beloved Ellen show DJ celebrated his nine-year wedding anniversary

He was the very picture of happiness as he danced with his wife and children on his nine-year wedding anniversary weekend.

But the last video tWitch posted on social media now seems eerie after the beloved DJ took his own life aged 40.

The footage shows him smiling and laughing with his family as they advertise products on their accounts.

He hoists his daughter into the air and merrily swings her around in the post on Instagram and TikTok.

Meanwhile, he shared a loving post to his wife Allison Holker Boss, dancing with him on their wedding day, calling her ‘my love,’ as he celebrated their anniversary.

But just three days later, the star left his family mansion without his car, checked into a nearby hotel and shot himself dead.

Here, DailyMail.com breaks down tWitch’s final few days before the tragedy that has rocked the world of show business.

Day before tragedy: tWitch leaves his LA mansion without his car and heads to motel

The details of when Boss left his home remain unclear, but DailyMail.com can confirm he checked into the Oak Tree Motel in Los Angeles on Monday.

Boss had called the motel Monday at around 9.20am to check if any rooms were available.

He then walked 15 minutes from his Los Angeles mansion to the motel. The DJ left his car parked at home, which led his wife to become concerned.

Boss used his own name to check into the hotel.

Hours before tragedy: His wife calls LAPD to say tWitch left the house without his car

Allison grew concerned when Boss left without his car on Monday and did not return on Tuesday.

She filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department.

tWitch found dead in a room at Oak Tree Inn after failing to check out

Motel staff told DailyMail.com that a maid discovered Boss’s body while performing a welfare check when the DJ failed to check out on time.

The manager of the Oak Tree Inn, who only wanted to be identified by his first name, Rakesh, said: ‘He went into his room, and he never came out. At 11.15am on Tuesday the maid opened the door to check on the room.

‘There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.

‘She was very scared. This is the first time anything like that has happened here. We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing.

‘The paramedics and the police came, and they said he was dead. Maybe he did it during the day on Monday. It’s a busy, loud road outside here, it’s possible nobody heard it because of that.’

Workers said Boss ‘shot himself in the head’ but no one heard the gun go off. The scene was described as ‘pretty bad.’

Aftermath: Allison announces her husband’s death and ex-co-worker Ellen DeGeneres leads tributes to the ‘pure love and light’

Allison announced her husband’s death in a statement to People and asked for privacy while her family mourns.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.

‘He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.

‘I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.’

‘Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.’

Heartbroken Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute to DJ ‘tWitch’ and said he was her ‘family.’

I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.’

DeGeneres posted a photo hugging Boss behind the scenes.

Former co-workers on the Ellen show have been left ‘shocked’ by his sudden passing – explaining that he was ‘a massive part of the team’ and ‘part of the family.’

One told the US Sun: ‘No one can ever understand why someone would do this, but this is entirely’ out of character for him.

I’m at a loss for words. We are all trying to process what has happened.’
