National Signing Day: Notre Dame Football Commitment and NLI Tracker

One by one, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will add new members to its football family during the early signing period for the 2023 recruiting class. Rather than beat the site down with a profile piece after each of the recruits sent in their NLI, we simply offer this recruiting tracker for the day.

OFD will offer plenty of other recruiting news and recruiting stories all day long as we fist pump our way to another really good class for the Irish.

Any new NLI’s will be registered here via a tweet, and marked off on the commitment list. Check back throughout the day to stay up to date. The recruit’s name’s are links to their past commitment posts here on OFD.

While most of Notre Dame’s current commit list is expected to sign with the Irish, 5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen is still very much up in the air between the Oklahoma Sooners and Notre Dame. We also expect Jayden Limar to finally flip to the Oregon Ducks which was something that actually happened over a week ago, but schools like Oregon like the flips to happen on NSD to maximize coverage because that’s a real thing.

I will keep the tracker pinned to the top of the site all day, and I encourage you to use the comment section as much as you would for a live game thread. There should be plenty to talk about with the Irish — and all of the other programs across the country.

Head Coach Marcus Freeman will have a press conference at 2 PM. Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Al Golden will follow Freeman.

Vernon is a monster-sized defensive line prospect from the great state of Ohio. While his ranking has slipped according to the recruiting services, Vernon is thought by many people to be the best player in the state of Ohio.

Shuler seems like a “forgotten” member of this class at times, but that’s only because his recruitment has been so steady.

Notre Dame once took Frank Leahy away from Boston College, and now that got Traore as well.

Sam Pendleton became a hero the moment he chose the Irish over Clemson.

Zinter is a versatile athlete that could play several different positions in college, but Marcus Freeman likes him at linebacker.

The Irish went into Virginia, did a Stanford flip, and pulled out a hockey player that is mutating into a football player.

Hillman is an athlete that could see time at several positions at Notre Dame, but we think the staff wants him in the defensive backfield first.

The Irish went down to the Carolinas to grab some big boys in the trenches, and Absher might end up being the best of the bunch.

Houstan is coming down from the Great White North to battle in the trenches for the Irish.

You can never have enough OHIO in your punch bowl, and this dominant Lakota West DB provides plenty of that.

Mr. Football in the state of Indiana and the 2022 HS Butkus Award winner… so I think it’s easy to say that we should all say a prayer of thanksgiving for Mr. Bowen.

Notre Dame absolutely needed a good quarterback in this cycle, and Tommy Rees was able to convince Kenny Minchey that Notre Dame was a better place for him than Pitt with Narduzzi.

The Irish were able to go down to Louisiana and pull one of the best players in the state.

Love is the highest ranked running back that Notre Dame has signed since Greg Bryant. in a class that once had three RB’s… this is the ONE that Notre Dame truly needed.

Pulling 4-Star cornerbacks is never an easy task, but Micah Bell is seemingly a perfect fit for and at Notre Dame.

Jagusah is one of the highest ranked offensive line signings for Notre Dame in the past 15 years.

Notre Dame has really been doing well in the St. Louis area, and in Gray, they have one of the best cornerbacks in the country — and a guy who really, really wants to play for the Irish.

Notre Dame needed a handful of wide receivers in this class, and Smith is part of a 4 man group — 3 of which are from the Lone Star state.
